A Korean publication that often leaks news about Samsung and LG's mobile plans, now claims that the LG Optimus G2 has been pulled ahead of schedule and will be released concurrently with the eventual Galaxy S IV about six months from now.
This puts the release for May next year, and the specs are what we would expect from a truly high-end Android in 2013 - the 5" Full HD LCD panel with 440ppi pixel density you see in the thumb image, supplied by LG Display itself, and a 2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon Prime processor with a frugal 3rd generation LTE radio inside.
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is expected to run the show, and we hope LG Innotek comes with something even better than the 13 MP camera module that is in the current Optimus G flagship. There is no word on internal memory yet, but if LG wants the phone to be competitive, it will probably equip it with at least 32 GB, if not double that amount.
